His sweater bears the silhouette of a journalist:

So the press is on his back, the same place it’s been all season.

His spine is a strained steel spring,

And though the game’s won his shoulders show no sign of relief.

Instead, his head’s leaning forward, as if poring

Over plans for opponents future and unknown,

As he prepares to abdicate,

Then claim another throne.
