I have always wanted to try 白布烏冬, since its opening during the peak of pandemic. I am so grateful that it’s still running, as this restaurant does not offer takeaway service (to ensure quality of the udon), which means it could be very tough for its business during pandemic.
The large sheets of flat udon were so al dente and delicious! A very novel texture and taste to me. It soaked up the broth very nicely! The soup itself was very tasty! Everything inside was oh-so-good, especially the slightly grilled eggplant strips that soaked up the tasty broth! Chicken was very tender and yummy.
My friend and I ordered two different styles of udon to share. Other than the hot soup udon, we also got this tsukemen type to try. The curry was more like soup curry, with rich and sweet Japanese curry flavor, yet not overly salty. Very delicious indeed!
We were very happy with the quality of food here. So satisfied! Would love to visit again to try out their tempura!
