鹵家 is a Chinese restaurant operated by a chef who formerly worked in a 5-star hotel. It had been on my to-go list for quite some time, and I finally got to try it with my friends before going on a hike in Yuen Long.

Chicken Rolls with Shaoxing Wine

This cold dish of Chicken Rolls with Shaoxing Wine made a superb appetizer on a stuffy and warm afternoon. The chicken rolls were very meaty and tender, and they were nicely marinated with Shaoxing wine without any bitterness in taste.

Tofu

We also ordered this dish of tofu to share, and it was oh-so-good! The soft tofu had a very enjoyable soybean flavour, and the fried tofu skin tasted so good!

Rice with Marinated Duck

I am not a big fan of Chinese marinated food, but 鹵家 definitely showed me a whole new world. This lunch set of Rice with Marinated Duck cost HKD$54 only, the portion and quality of food were way beyond our expectations!

The marinated duck was very meaty and flavoured, yet it’s not overly salty. And the bean stalks underneath soaked up the sauce, which made the bean stalks much more tasty! I just managed to finished all the food in my set, make sure you opt for less rice if you are not too hungry. The portion is really generous here!
