Cafe Wander

Cafe Wander is a new cafe in Tai Kok Tsui, serving healthy Japanese food and coffee. I adore their green and white store colour theme a lot!

You will be welcomed by a poem projected onto the wall once you walk into the cafe.

Flat White

To be honest, the Flat White wasn’t quite what I expected. It tasted a bit burnt…Probably because of overly roasted coffee beans? I’m not sure, but it isn’t something that I usually taste. Luckily, the milk took away some of the burnt taste.

Japanese Rice Balls Lunch Set

On the contrary, the lunch set was more delicious and satisfying. The Salted Rice Ball (upper one) was a bit plain but filling. And the Mayo Tuna Rice Ball (lower one) was superb! Japanese food are always simple yet tasty.

The Tofu with Sesame Sauce and Pork Sausage on Bone were typical Japanese food. Nom Nom.

The Pork Stew was quite something I looked forward to. The pork belly was a bit overcooked and quite chewy (you can see in the picture that it’s quite dry), unlike those legit Japanese style which serves tender pork belly that “melts” on your tongue. The broth was decent.

I guess I would still visit Cafe Wander again, to try out their udon and other rice balls. Probably not the coffee though…
