A Social Enterprise that Serves Great Food & Coffee
Date of Visit: 24 Sep 2021
so330 (I guess the “so” stands for “soul”?) is a new cafe in Wan Chai which is run as a social enterprise to support employment of ex-mentally ill patients. Most of the time, I don’t have high expectation to diners run by social enterprises, but recently, I found a number of nicely run ones that gave me nice surprise, so330 is one of them. Food and coffee served here are reasonably priced (slightly cheaper than those in the hood) and quite delicious actually! Highly recommend you to give so330 a try so eat with a good clause.
I ordered a cup of Caramel Cappuccino, and the caramel layer was legit and crispy. It added a bit flavour to the foamy, smooth cappuccino. Better than your ordinary caramel syrup I would say. And the cup of coffee is quite huge!
I also ordered a Smoked Salmon Focaccia Toast with cream cheese as afternoon tea/early dinner. The focaccia bread is made inhouse by people in recovery of mental illness. I would say baking is definitely a nice healing and therapeutic activity. And this focaccia bread was absolutely delicious! Fluffy with nice and mild herbal taste. The portion of smoked salmon on top was very generous, and cream cheese always makes a great spread. The overall portion might look small, but the dish was surprisingly filling.
Definitely coming back for food/coffee or even the workshops they offer in this zenful environment.
