Have you ever considered the possibility of purchasing your own underground bunker? If you answered no, we’re about to change your mind!

Before 2020, buying an underground bunker may have seemed a little weird and unnecessary, but since Covid-19 hit the interest has spiked all over the world. If you do a quick Google search on how many people own bunkers you’ll see news titles such as, ‘American’s Building Doomsday Bunkers in Record Numbers’, ’Interest in New Zealand Bunkers Has Surged’, and ‘The Bunker Market is Thriving’.

Underground bunkers don’t have to be the dark and cold hole under the ground you’ve seen in zombie movies, in fact, they can be quite luxurious.

We had the amazing opportunity to see what’s inside one of the 12-luxury bunkers part of project Survival Condo, in Kansas. These bunkers were old missile silos built in the ’60s, and a key part of the Cuban missile crisis, that housed nuclear missiles under the control of President Kennedy. They have since been transformed into a luxury living, worth between $1.5–3 million.

Upon touring this 15-story bunker we were informed that a NASA scientist, in charge of the wellbeing of astronauts, came in and helped identify important aspects needed to prevent anyone that lived in these bunkers for long periods of time from going crazy.

Here’s what lies inside a 15-story luxury bunker…

  • Security room
  • Jail cell
  • Shooting range
  • Movie theatre
  • Bar
  • Dentist office
  • General market and store, with 5 years worth of food.
  • Hydroponic and aquaculture food production.
  • Library
  • Schoolroom
  • Gym
  • Sauna and steam room
  • Arcade room
  • Living quarters with live feed TV ‘windows’.
  • Kitchen
  • Laundry
  • Pool with water slide

Let us know below, what other places around the world would you like to see inside of?
