What’s Inside Tokyo’s Robot Restaurant?
Ladies and gentlemen- welcome to the world-famous robot restaurant!
Three floors under the ground in Shinjuku Tokyo lay a one-of-a-kind dining experience. You’ll see robots, lasers, lights, dancing, music, amazing costumes, and more robots. This place is said to be a must-see for anyone visiting Tokyo, and after experiencing the show ourselves we definitely agree.
The show runs every day at various times between 12 pm and 8:30 pm. Each show runs for about 90 minutes and costs approximately $82 USD for admission. This place is called the Robot Restaurant, so yes, there is food available to buy, but that is not included in your admission.
We arrived 30 minutes early to the show and jumped in what may be the world’s shiniest elevator to go to the pre-show waiting room. Check out all these lights!
After being entertained by a guitar-playing robot, we were ushered downstairs to the showroom.
To be honest, we were a little confused with what was going on most of the time, and you probably will be too, but it was still amazing. There was a lot of drums, a giant snake with a girl on top battling another girl that was shooting lasers at the snake, sword fights, dancers, a laser show, and multiple other robots and characters that were very anime-influenced.
It is a little expensive, but it is a good experience if you are looking for that Japanese touristy experience. Check out our video to see our full extent Robot Restaurant experience.
