This week’s Loop of the Week features Micah Hoffman, an avid surfer from Southern California. Micah enjoys spending her time exploring the outdoors. Her father inspired her to start surfing seven years ago, and since that very day, Micah has continued riding the ocean waves and exploring various landscapes. Her photographic style centers around nature because she loves getting as much scenery and color as possible. She uses her GoPro Hero 5 and DJI Mavic Pro to capture her adventures.
No strangers to moving, Micah and her family now call the North Shore of Kauai their new home. However, this isn’t their first time in Hawaii. Years ago, they once lived in Oahu. Micah felt the islands were calling them back. Currently, she’s loving Oahu. The open land creates a relaxing environment she and her family enjoy. She also loves how kind the people are — with “so much aloha in them.”
Micah’s absolute favorite surfing moment was the time she caught her first wave. At that very moment, she became addicted. She keenly recalls her favorite photography moment: the first time she flew her very first drone. The flying camera showed her a new and fun perspective of her surroundings. Micah plans to work, surf, and enjoy Kauai. She hopes to find a job that involves being outdoors, so she can continue immersing in nature.
