NSW Will Put On 1000 New Concerts This Spring
The NSW Government has teamed up with ARIA to bring 1000 new concerts to the state, I repeat 1000 new concerts!!! The series of concerts will be called “Great Southern Lights” and will take place in November across city and regional areas.
All the events will be programmed in line with Government enforced venue capacity and distancing rules. However with the federal government fast-tracking the removal of restrictions, and COVID-19 cases staying low, we predict these rules to be quite relaxed by November — so the concerts will be you know, concerts… and not this.
The concerts will be local artists only, but some heavy-hitters like Tash Sultana, Jungle Giants, Tones & I, Paul Kelly and more have been confirmed.
Combined with NSW abolishing lock-out laws and giving flexibility for late night dining, this is amazing news for NSW dwellers. The excitement surrounding this development is echoed by Stuart Ayres, minister for Jobs, Investment & Tourism;
“With the NSW Government’s 24-hour economy strategy set to reinvigorate Sydney’s nightlife, Great Southern Nights will be a big step forward for our state’s live music and hospitality community that has been hit hard in recent times.”
