Like the rest of Australia, we’re absolutely hyped for Festival X this November. It marks the return of major touring festivals that the scene has been craving for so long. I talked a little about this here.

For those that are sleeping on Whatslively, we’re a live music discovery app used by over 50,000 concert enthusiasts around Australia. Our app alerts you to concerts from artists you track on the app (it syncs to your music players too), so you never miss out hearing about the concerts you care about.

We did some analytics (fun) on our users and found which artists on the monster Festival X bill has enjoyed the fastest tracker growth in the last six months, i.e. the hottest artists on the bill according to our users. We did this because for any music fan it’s kind of easy to figure out the most popular acts on the lineup (cough* Calvin), so it’s more interesting to see which of the acts have been buzzing the most recently, and this can help you decide which acts you definitely need to see come November.

1. Blueface

Whether it’s his unorthodox and often called “off-beat” style rapping, his now viral dance moves, or his random af Benjamin Franklin tattoo on his face, Blueface is a certified viral sensation. Ever since dropping the monster hit ‘Thotiana’, Blueface has become a household name in Hip-Hop. Combined with being co-signed by Drake and Kendrick Lamar, and packing out concert halls in the U.S, this dude has definitely moved passed being just a viral hit and is here to stay. Given all this, it’s not surprising that Blueface has been the fastest tracking artist on this monster lineup and if concert footage from the U.S is anything to go by, he puts on one hell of a show. Who’s ready to bust down this November?

2. Calvin Harris

A very close second is none-other than the headliner Calvin Harris. This isn’t surprising, Calvin Harris is actually one of the most tracked artists on our app (second in fact behind Drizzy Drake), well because he’s one of the biggest acts on the planet. Hot take but name me a DJ/producer with a catalogue more impressive than Calvins, I’ll wait. We are so excited for Calvin to close out the festival (set times aren’t out but pretty sure he will close) and belt out club and festival anthems like ‘This is what you came for’, ‘Summer’, ‘Slide’ and countless others.

3. Lil Pump

Similar to Blueface fame, Lil Pump is a bit of an online sensation. The poster child for “mumble rap”, Pump has been quickly growing into superstar status ever since he dropped ‘Gucci gang’, then hopping on another viral track ‘I Love It’ with Kanye West and the summer smash with the late XXTentacion and Swae Lee; ‘Arms Around You’. These will be Pump’s debut shows in Australia, and thanks to some videos made by our friends at TRVP, pretty sure we need to get ready to rage.

4. Trippie Redd

With emo-rap dominating Hip-Hop lately, it’s not the biggest surprise one of the best to do it Trippie Redd is trending highly with our users. It’s safe to say that him and XXXTentacion are the leaders of this new sub-genre and this is evident in their joint smash song ‘Fuck love’. He’s channelled the pain of having a troubled family and losing his older brother at a young age into his music, and this has created a legion of fans who find refuge in his songs. For those thinking his live acts will be on the low-tempo side because of this, that’s not true — with tracks like “Topanga” and looking at his festival sets at Rolling Loud, we’re going to be in for a energetic performance.

5. Armin van Buuren

Much like Calvin Harris, Armin finds himself on this list not due to so much trending recently but just trending in general because of his huge catalogue. Armin is undeniably an EDM legend and a festival favourite, & when the sun sets at Festival X, his iconic tracks ‘Blah Blah Blah’ and ‘This is what it feels like’ are going to be a scene.
