Now announce Birthdays and Work Anniversaries in Slack
The headline is somewhat misleading. You can now announce your team members’ birthdays and work anniversaries in your channels, using AttendanceBot, in Slack, Microsoft Teams and Google chat.
This was one of the most asked features by our customers and had been on our crosshairs for a while. We were a little unsure about privacy, opt-in and whether we should switch these on by default or not. We’ve decided to let our users control everything. Starting today team admins can set up birthday and work anniversary announcements on the channels of their choice.
Just head to the settings panel -> Announcements and get cracking. Of course you’d have to first set up the joining dates and date of births for your people which you can do from your People page.
