Are you a recent convert struggling to think of what you might like for Christmas that fits in with your new lifestyle? Perhaps one of your friends or family is vegan, and you’d like to treat them to something thoughtful this year?

Veganism is on the rise in the UK and, whilst companies are catching up with and providing vegan alternatives to many loved products, it does still require a little bit of extra thinking. So — we’ve done some of the legwork for you, and put together a list of our picks of the best vegan gifts for this Christmas.

These Hotel Chocolate vegan chocolates are a great starting point, for what would Christmas be without chocolate? If these ones don’t take your fancy, they have an entire vegan range on-site, so go wild and shop to your heart’s desire!

Stella McCartney was one of the first luxury brands to commit to creating fashion without using leather or fur. Instead of Brazilian calf leather, they use recycled polyester to create their designs, which creates 24 times less of an environmental impact. While they are on the pricier side, there’s no denying that Stella’s designs are excellent. Our pick would be this mini round monogram bag.

There is something undeniably luxe about an old fashioned shaving kit, and this one from Beard Emporium on Etsy is pleasingly vegan. The kitchen contains a razor, a Not-Badger 100% vegan shave brush with olive wood handle, a handmade grapefruit shaving soap and dish, a handmade post-shave balm and a stainless steel razor stand.

Friendly Soap is a fantastic brand, who’s products are all SLS, paragon, triclosan, plastic and cruelty-free, and made by people paid a living wage. They have a whole host of products to choose from — from soap bars and cleansing bars, to solid shampoo and conditioner bars. Our favourite is the travel set as you get to try a little bit of each.

A pioneer of vegan, cruelty-free cosmetics — no vegan gift guide would be complete without mentioning Lush products. If you’ve not been to one of their shops and don’t get the hype, get yourself down to one and enjoy the magnificent sensory overload that makes Lush, well, lush.

Their Christmas bundles have been a firm favourite under the tree for many years — if you really want to spoil someone then why not splash out on the It’s Christmas Deer gift set — but they have also recently launched spa experiences using their famous products. We love the sound of the Karma spa treatment, an “Ayurvedic-inspired blend of four-handed massage, meditation and music to transport you to another dimension and provide inner harmony”. Lush have a full vegan range of products available for all spa treatments, so just mention your preference at your consultation when booking!

Finally, we couldn’t end this gift guide without including something from Dr Martens who have an amazing selection of vegan leather shoes and bags. This cherry red Cambridge bag is pretty dreamy, or why not go for the classic 101’s made using vegan leather.
