Pandas, Penguins & Pigeons, Oh My!

In this blog post we share an article written by Lindsay Kolowich | @lkolo25. we are given a brief overview of the major Google algorithm updates of 2014. It appears 2014 was the year of animal updates, with a couple exceptions for Pirate and Payday updates. While the mere mentioning of a pigeon is enough to make most Chicagoans and New Yorkers reel, it would appear Google managed to spin that moniker with the major launch of Pigeon and bring some positive connotation to the otherwise scrappy perception of a rat with wings. Pigeon was a welcome update returning useful, relevant, and accurate local search results that are tied more closely to traditional web search ranking signals.
