Unfathomable brooks sloosh
for river’s intricacy to throb,
wildflowers dot latent loam
in their artless abundance
to wilt, wither, recrystallize,
trees put off green cloaks,
vanquished inflorescence
untying languishing bracts,
fragments of waning fauna
rot to sustain primitive cells
in surrogate womb of soil.

Ecosystems interlaced for
the ethos of jungle to thrive,
astonishing infant sounds
soon reverberate low, slow
tingling tympanum of ears,
nature weaves elements in a
swing for senses to snooze,
light splinters in quasicrystals
dense quietude of forest groves
deepens the verve of vision
passing through dark mind.

In the hollow of wilderness
an orderly ecstasy pulsates,
a timeless buoyancy embeds
perennial disorder of time,
stashing seeds away in rind
fruits bounce down to earth
bursting open to hum a prelude
preceding vital music of wild,
may jungles multiply in bounty
pivoting rhythm of seasons
so scents of wilderness survive.
