Rainy-day day trip to Milk River Spa on March 18, 2017, was a great success.

Just over an hour from home, a natural mineral spring touted as “9 times as radioactive as the one in Bath, UK,” with an on-site hotel and spa opened in 1794 and currently managed by the Government of Jamaica.

The first 71km takes 30 minutes. The last 10km, well, Jamaican roads are…fun…

For about $10 you can sit in the water for 30 minutes (maximum recommended exposure!) Another $25 gets you a 40-minute massage. Lunch of chicken, rice, and salad adds another $6. Not bad for a day trip.

Water piped from the spring runs through the soaking tubs. The tile work and iron railings could have used a little TLC, but that doesn’t stop Milk River’s intrepid clientele.

Just a couple miles further down the road is Farquhar beach, with cliffs, shells, and some very handsome looking roosters.

What you can’t see is the jerk chicken restaurant just behind this guy…
Rainy beach day! (There were soooooo many mosquitoes tbh.)
David found (and took home) approximately 10,000 shells during this trip.
