PROBLEM?

For the Internet this face has become the single, most recognized representation of the phenomenon known as Internet trolling.

By origin Trollface appeared in a comic by DeviantArt user Whynne (aka Carlos Ramirez) in 2008. Because of it’s popularity online Ramirez eventually copyrighted in 2010 this image and is reported to have made $100,000 from licensing fess since. To date this image has been used by a total of 4,763 websites and appears on almost 50,000 unique pages.

Other characters with known creators don’t nearly have the reach that Trollface has on the net. Using WhereOnThe.Net, I was able to identify the close contenders or rising stars of illustrated memes.
