In today’s world, technology and innovation is everywhere and it is constantly being studied and developed across different sectors to break barriers, make a difference and reach success. For us, innovation is a big part of what we do. But we don’t innovate just for the sake of it. We always make sure our innovation is purposeful, as we seek to create the best products through the best brands, enabling everyone to make the most of their moments that matter. That’s exactly the kind of innovation we have in mind when we develop our home appliances and it is a vision that unites our 14 industrial sites and 3 technology and research centers in 7 countries across Europe, Middle East & Africa.

That’s why #PlacesthatMatter is about Technology.

This vision is shared across all our people: the hundreds of engineers, designers, scientists and product line workers who work every day to conceive unique features, test out innovative solutions and deliver high-quality products.

“What does it mean to make a refrigerator? It means technology, development, research, marketing. It means that everything is changing.”

Mikolaj Szram, R&D Manager, Łódź, Poland

In all our R&D centers across different communities, countries and regions our aim is always to develop and assess the most advanced technological solutions every day to constantly improve the user experience of our products and services. We challenge ourselves and work together to revolutionize our industry and the way people conceive their home life by leveraging on the latest technologies like connectivity and remote control.

“I had designed a fridge that became an oven and then turned into a dishwasher. Creativity and feasibility. With these words I joined Whirlpool as an architect. And with these same words I gather food scientists, designers and big companies around a table. Together, to respond to new consumer needs”

— Teresa Vitale, Global Food Institute Project Lead

In Wroclaw we have a Global R&D Center for Refrigeration and Dishwashing where we develop state-of-the-art technologies for our entire portfolio of brands that are launched worldwide.

Our Global Food Institute in Cassinetta is a hub of excellence in the field of food technologies research applied to the development of performing and innovative kitchen appliances.

Our thirst for continuous innovation is spread across our people, communities and industrial sites. This month we are celebrating that #PlacesthatMatter is Technology.
