Creating Change in Under 30mins

This is an article for those seeking to implement change, but stop at the simple thought of it.

Most of the time we fail before we even start due to the fear of making a commitment we can’t sustain or because of our capacity to exaggerate the potential workload required. When it comes to your wedding, it’s more than likely that you didn’t view all the associated elements to this wonderful event with a negative bias? For instance, I’d be pretty sure you didn’t say “Look, I’d love to get married. But I already know that I’d need to dedicate 100 hrs to this each week to the planning process in order to make it any good!”

I’d be more inclined to think that you started by saying “yes” because of the importance of this event and what it means to you. Now compare this scenario to commencing a wellness journey in everyday life… Let me list a few of the common thoughts expressed to me over the years:

  • “I have no time”
  • “I can’t commit 4hrs per week”
  • “I travel and can’t find anywhere to train”
  • “I know that I’d need to commit more energy than I’m willing to give”
  • Etc.

This is why I’ve dedicated 1hr of my time to write this article in the hope that it helps inspire a bride to take action for themselves when they’re able to see things from a different perspective. If you’re able to remove all the thought around why you can’t do it, and simply think about why doing it could be positive, rewarding and fun then immediately you’re half way there. After all this is the same approach you’re using for your wedding!

So if change is important to you let’s break down the power of 30 minutes.

For starters, it’s realistic for most of us. No matter what your work schedule is like, finding 30 minutes for ourselves out of 10,080 every week should seem very achievable. Especially considering the fact that we dedicate 812hrs each week to social media. (This is according to research published on Entrepreneur.com)

Next, when you compare it to our normal expectation of exercise being around 1.5hrs, having a refined window can serve as a motivator to be more efficient and effective, allowing us to achieve significant rewards in one third of the time. Further, by being able to integrate it regularly you are automatically applying the perfect foundation for building consistency that will see you accelerate the process of creating real change that lasts.

At White Honey we created a specific series dedicated to emphasising the power of this approach, because I’ve seen first hand just how effective it can be. It’s called 5 Days For Change, costs only $3.00 and gives you the timeframe of 7 days access to make the most of it. In paying a nominal amount, you make the mental commitment to yourself to take the first step and when combined with the timeframe of only 1 week, you have the perfect environment to reap the rewards.

No matter what it is that you’re looking to achieve, I highly encourage you just to start with the simple thought of committing 30 minutes to it. You may decide to increase or reduce this as time moves on, but you will be far closer that you would ever be, if you never started.
