Are you living in the moment?

When I was a kid growing up in one of the busiest cities in the United States, was taught to dream big but trust the process because there is always a reason behind everything that happens. For years, I believed in the notion that the world had a grand plan for me and whether I liked it or not, those plans would come to fruition and hit me hard at that very moment. With that said, I was under one of two impressions: live on the edge of life doing what I wanted to do or live by the sword and follow the path in front of me. Granted, I wasn’t the smartest in the room or the most cunning, I was just…me and I had an ambition to leave a mark on the world no matter what it took.

I am not advocating that you shouldn’t live in the moment, but I am telling you to find the balance between being too vested into the process and outright not caring about what happens. There is a fine line where the most successful live and it’s definitely achievable with the proper mindset, but the problem lies in the people that you keep around you because admit it, you have friends for pretty much anything that you want to do. There are the ones you hang out when you want to party, the ones who you bring home to mom or dad so they don’t worry about you being independent, and those friends that just can’t seem to get their life together and make you content with the thought of “Well, if this person can overcome their circumstances, my life is fine and I just need to stick to what I’m doing…” Isn’t that a little naive to be thinking? You’ll be fine if you stick to staying the course forever? You don’t have anything better else to do? You won’t wake up one day and wonder where all those years have gone? Highly doubt it!!

There will be moments when you doubt yourself and moments when you feel like you’re on top of the world, but seriously, what are you doing about it? If you have a big dream you want to achieve, then well JUST DO IT! Forget about patiently waiting for the right time to venture out on your own. Do what you do best which is adapt, conquer, repeat. Adapt to the circumstances that life throws at you. Conquer the fears and regrets you may have at this moment for the betterment of your future. Repeat the process a thousand times over because I can guarantee that this won’t be the first time you go through a crisis.

You were put on this world to do great things, not sit behind a desk reading motivational talks that you’ll forget in a few minutes. If you want to live a stale life, then to each their own. But if you want to make an impact and live up to your potential, chase after your dream with every single ounce of sweat that you have! Life may not be pretty and it may not judge you, but it will take you for a ride like the rest of us!

In conclusion, all you need to remember are the following:

Adapt. Conquer. Repeat.

See you at the next one!! #Adapt #Conquer #Repeat
