Q: Could you tell us about the project?

A: Tezos is a decentralized public blockchain and smart contract platform that is designed to evolve. It is an open-source platform that addresses key barriers facing blockchain adoption for assets and applications, backed by a global community of validators, researchers, and builders.

One of the key features of Tezos is its unique on-chain governance mechanism that allows people to vote on protocol amendments. Going along with that, the protocol has been built for adaptability at a fundamental layer.

The best thing to do is head over to our website. There is a “Learn” / “Getting Started” page that can help users understand some of the basics. However, I would encourage everyone to go beyond that and consider checking out one of the Tezos communities here.

Q: Tezos is rather interesting for developers. How can it be useful to ordinary people?

A: Well, that is the great thing about the ecosystem: various teams have already built usable applications on Tezos. There are DeFi applications, NFT platforms, decentralized identity applications, gaming, and so on. It really depends on what a user is interested in.

Q: What is OpenMinter, and what do I use it for?

A: OpenMinter: A Lean, Mean, Clean NFT Minting Machine

NFTs are all the rage — garnering big media coverage and celebrity engagement from everyone, from Snoop Dogg to SNL. A great resource for this is here. It offers a much more detailed explanation, so feel free to check it out.

However, a good quote to summarize is this:

“OpenMinter is a Tezos based open-source DApp (“decentralized application”) framework for enabling the creation and collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). This makes it possible for anyone, individuals, brands, and enterprises, to use OpenMinter to easily create their own NFT marketplaces, gallery collections, or simply to run their own personal NFT minting machine.”

Q: Your website reads, “Secure. Upgradable. Built to last.’” Can you explain how Tezos as an open-source platform achieves this and how Tezos is a self-amending cryptographic ledger?

A: Sure. It pretty much goes back to what I was talking about before with governance and adaptability. At the protocol level, Tezos is designed to be flexible and upgradeable. This type of design works together with Tezos’ on-chain governance mechanism that enables coordinated and forkless upgrades.

Essentially, “Bakers” (validators) can vote on protocol upgrades, and any individual is able to delegate to a baker of their choice. Tezos gives control to the community. Such a mechanism makes Tezos technologically sustainable because it gives the community the tools to decide how the network evolves. Anyone can enable Tezos to evolve, as it is not dependent on any central authority.

Q: How can Tezos ensure long-term upgradability in its blockchain? Which features make Metronome able to fill the requirements of store-of-value and method-of-payment apps?

A: I would say that my previous answer mostly addresses the first part of that. As for the second part, value is subjective, really. However, there seem to be some common characteristics of things that are valuable to people:

  1. It has ideological depth.
  2. It is dynamic/offers utility.
  3. It has a community/ecosystem.

I would say Tezos offers all three of them. Tezos is focused around the core principles of the public blockchain vision: being a decentralized network for individuals to exchange value between themselves. It is a revolutionary system, and there is a lot of meaning behind it.

Tezos offers utility with a variety of decentralized applications that people can take advantage of and actually use. It has a really active and growing community around it, and there are lots of people seriously committed to its future.

Q: What are you currently working on, and what are your milestones for the nearest future? What three goals are you trying to achieve now?

A: For Tezos, I know the ecosystem is focused around building more decentralized applications and growing the ones that are already built. There are a few teams like Nomadic Labs that are looking to further improve Tezos’ technical ability by increasing maximum TPS and improving finality. I would recommend checking out this.

As for Blokhaus, we focus on marketing and communications. We are just trying to get more people involved in the Tezos ecosystem!
