Common sense suggests to always avoid sarcastic comments with children. Above all, you should never make sarcastic comments about their physical aspect. Especially with girls. The social pressure is already so high, that we can at least spare them our snarky remarks.

Which is why we loved the latest New Yorker cover so much.

It’s an animated cover, actually, and it tells the story of writer Hanna Rosin and her 13 year-old daughter, Noah, who had chosen to dress up as Hillary Clinton for Hallowe’en.

It presents a familiar setting, with mom and teenage daughter putting make up on in front of a mirror.
