A Health Writer Shares 10 Holy Grail Health Products That Are Actually Backed By Science

As a health writer with a background in science and marketing, one thing I love to do is fact-check products and cut through the BS buzzwords to understand two things:

  1. Is there valid research to support the efficacy of a product? E.g. is there at least one double-blind placebo-controlled randomized controlled trial (the gold standard of research) that shows, with statistical significance, the product has benefits
  2. Are the claims being made reasonable at a population level? E.g. biodiversity! Just because something works for a 40-year-old white man doesn’t mean it’s going to work well for 21-year-old women. So claims should be reasonable, with different contexts considered.

Without further ado, these are the products that score highly in both of these considerations. In no particular order.
