I have a nightlight that projects the Milky Way on my ceiling. Last night, instead of sleeping, I laid in bed captivated by the glow of planet Earth. I wondered how to shake the apocalyptic feeling. I thought about the people who can go about their business as if we aren’t suffering or our extinction isn’t right around the corner.

I may sound like doom and gloom, but let’s be real. Who knew the Raging ’20s would bring death by pandemic, the Big Lie, a Capitol insurrection, a massive uptick in mass shootings, the re-rise of white supremacy, natural disasters, cruise vacations, failed leadership, oppressive and dangerous…
