The WD-40 Approach to Life
There's an old product on the market that never fails to deliver.
I sat in a shiny, vinyl-orange booth at Burger King in the Dublin airport, enjoying the relative peace and quiet while waiting for my connecting flight to Edinburgh, and wrote this article.
I didn't have a burger, fries, or anything to drink. I was freeloading, and nobody cared. That's good because I needed a refuge for the next five hours. My connecting flight got pushed out, so my downtime was even longer than initially planned.
I grabbed a cappuccino when I landed in Dublin after an overnight flight from Orlando. I savored the warm beverage for ten minutes, hoping to find some energy, before heading into the Aer Lingus lounge, where I figured I could stretch out and even take a shower.
The happy little idea in my head was about to be shot to pieces, but I didn't know that as I opened the door to the lounge.
"Hi there. Here's my boarding pass."
"You've got over six hours until your flight."
"I know."
"You can only stay in the lounge for 2.5 hours before your flight, so you'll have to return later."
Weary, bloodshot eyes looked at this lady just doing her job — my tired brain in slow…
