You Don’t Have to Struggle Anymore
It’s okay to let it all fall apart
“Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final.”
— Rainer Maria Rilke, The Book of Hours
If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that life is wild.
Things can change in the blink of an eye.
Life can be rolling along without too many bumps, and then all of a sudden, you’re ejected from your seat and thrown high into the air.
Then, inevitably, you’re freefalling—but you didn’t choose to jump out of the plane. You got sucked out the doors, kicking and screaming and fighting for your life.
Here’s something else I’ve realized: there’s no way to stop it.
You can’t defy gravity, so what are you going to do?
Embrace the fall.
This is something I never imagined typing.
I’ve always been a fairly laid-back person, but this takes it to a whole new level.
You might be thinking, Embrace the fall!? What, exactly, does that even mean!?
As I’ve learned, fighting against reality only makes the struggle harder and more painful.
So, it means let it happen.
