Whose health is it anyway?

Even before COVID-19, 60% of younger patients said they’d switch healthcare providers over a poor digital experience. Patient experience has become even more important for people of all ages since the pandemic — with an estimated 1 billion telehealth visits by the end of 2020.

So while some of us are still trying to find the “unmute” button on a video call, how can a health system or practice successfully engage patients and caregivers virtually in a holistic, compelling way? Good news: there’s a large body of evidence about what works, further enhanced by the deluge of learning opportunities provided by COVID-19, and we are fortunate to have some national leaders to help us navigate it.

This session is not just about facts and resources you can use (though there are plenty of those). Our featured guests also call for a transformation of care, starting with the patient at the center, that is as at the nexus of art science. Don’t believe me? Come to the session — we promise you facts, useful resources, poetry, and even a funny video.

Hear from:

Adrienne Boissy, Chief Experience Officer, Cleveland Clinic Health System

Jay Erickson, Head of Innovation, Modus, and also a cancer-survivor

Emily Kagan Trenchard, VP Digital Innovation Strategy, Northwell Health

  • Design principles for optimal patient experiences
  • How to co-design with consumers and patients
