Tencent WeStart (Hong Kong)

Intro:
With more than 32 locations and over 29 cities across China, Tencent WeStart focuses on facilitating innovation in the areas of e-commerce, gaming, robotics, VR, and other technologies. Occupying over 10 million square feet of space, it has incubated over 1,000 companies with a total market value of over RMB 300B, including 5 unicorns and 5 publicly listed companies, and 200,000 plus community members.
Tencent WeStart (Hong Kong) is the first “overseas” branch, and is operated by VS Media. More a “creative hub” than a co-working space, this location empower regional entrepreneurs in digital entertainment with comprehensive support & insider knowledge.

The Hive

Intro:
Founded in 2012 here in Hong Kong by Constant Tedder, the Hive has been expanding to having 7 different offices in Hong Kong, with spaces in Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam — and by the end of the year — Japan, Taiwan and Australia as well.
While they have regular co-working spaces for entrepreneurs & startups of all forms & sizes, they also have co-working environments for specific industries, e.g. The Hive CoFarm in Yuen Long allows agri-tech startups to grow and “blossom”.

- Kennedy Town includes the Hive Kennedy Town, MakerHive & the Hive Studios — MakerHive is created especially with designers & makers in mind
- The Hive Studios, in parallel with that, has a cafe, photographers booths and private offices set around one professional-sized fashion photography studio
Sai Kung
- This location really allows you to get back in touch with nature as you work, with views of Hong Kong’s hilly relief and only a short distance from the sea.
Sheung Wan
- The branch of the Hive in the hipster Sheung Wan includes 3 floors of office space, a cafe in collaboration with Locofarma, as well as a rooftop terrace for fresh air.
Wan Chai
- This is the “flagship” the Hive office with 5 floors, which includes a rooftop terrace lined with tropical trees in the vibrant Wanchai.
Wong Chuk Hang — The Hive Spring
- The Hive Spring is designed for artists & creative entrepreneurs, the area itself is inspiring, and covered in grafitti, and the office (especially the toilets) are designed to be intriguing and aesthetically pleasing. There is also an outside terrace, and this location is right opposite the Wong Chuk Hang MTR station.
Yuen Long — The Hive CoFarm
- The CoFarm is designed especially to gather groups of people who are enthusiastic about farming, and growing vegetables, and where greener startups can run hydroponics, aquaponics and agri-tech. Their facilities include agricultural land, water, buildings and fishponds to operate pilot schemes, small scale production, test new agri-tech and IoT technologies.
The Wave

Intro:
Located in Kwun Tong, The Wave was first set up in 2015 with the intention of bringing together business talents of all ages, all backgrounds and all experiences. They will soon have a new office in Mongkok.
Besides helping entrepreneurs on their journey of success, the Wave is very involved in helping the community as a whole. Awarded by the Hong Kong Council of Social Good, the Wave is a certified B Corporation that works to solve social and environmental problems.
They also provide a lot of educational trainings, such as hosting Innovation Facilitation programs in schools and corporations, as well as hosting workshops with the knowledge / soft skill / tricks to accelerate your business.

The Work Project

Intro:
Founded in 2016 by Singaporean Junny Lee, the Work Project in Hong Kong has received much recognition for its beautiful designs, winning multiple global design awards and recognition, including 5 Most Beautiful Coworking Spaces in the World by Forbes, Gold in A’ Global Design Award & Competition (2017) and Perspective A&D Trophy Awards (2017).
With the motto of “think design”, the Work Project is designed to be a “high performance” co-working space. They currently have an office in Singapore, and another is due to be opened in October this year.

This space is conveniently located (2 minutes from the Causeway Bay MTR station), is 30,000 square feet is size, with an event space accommodating more than 100 people, it also has top quality, freshly ground & brewed organic coffee, a full-service pantry and happy hours.
WeWork

Intro:
Founded in 2010 in New York, WeWork is undoubtably one of the biggest names in the co-working space globally. In 30 cities in the US, WeWork also has offices in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Columbia, France Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Singapore, Korea, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, UK and Vietnam. In Hong Kong, there are 3 locations currently open, with another recently announced.
WeWork’s mission is to bring together individuals — “me” and grow them into a “we”. They believe that the community is their “catalyst”, and they believe that great minds should work together to create something wonderful and powerful. (Besides co-working, they also have WeLive, co-living communities, but this is unavailable in Hong Kong).

Taikoo Shing
- This location has only recently been officially opened, and is connected to Taikoo Shing, one of the most fully equipped malls on the island. Spanning 4 floors, this facility has an onsite game room, and an outdoor space.
Wanchai
- Situated in Wanchai, this venue is close to some of the hottest locations in Hong Kong: the HKCEC, Hong Kong’s signature exhibition spot, and Pacific Place, one of the most high end malls / office locations on the island.
