TV is everything they hate in the world, except The Simpsons is on

Sumar come back with a new material after their debut EP Here We Go 2 years ago. To cheer you up, this pop-punk band from Palembang recently released a new single called ‘No More TV Causality’, which is pretty fun to listen to. I almost immediately agree with this song. It’s like kids, don’t watch the TV, it’s poison and Black Flag already told all the punks everywhere on the globe earth, no more TV party.

I guess Sumar are really a band who get stuck to the 90’s — the music, the style and anything good’s about it. It’s pure nostalgia and the band can’t let a good thing die. Turn off the TV, listen more to the radio and stereo because we have Green Day playing. We’ve heard that before, and no shit it sounds so cool and punk.

Let’s fast forward to 2017. TV horribly sucks. Radio sucks, that also applies to Radiohead. Facebook sucks. Twitter sucks. Youtube sucks. Instagram sucks. This blog rules. I mean it. But honestly I think the internet radio is better than everything else, including podcast. So yeah, let’s stick to the internet radio and you’ll see this song still makes sense and relevant for a political punk who didn’t listen to Greg Ginn and now seriously follows ILC because he thinks Karni Ilyas’s voice sounds scarier than GG Allin. Turn the TV channel off dude.

However, I feel kinda bad about it and I have a second thought. It’s okay for some pop-punk scenester to watch TV all day, because we’re dumb and don’t have friends to hang out with and that’s something that makes us even cooler, plus we don’t listen to Black Flag anyway. So fuck it, check other similar bands who are sharing experience about TV effects like The Spikeweed, they got a song about a favorite TV show and Death By Television from The Lilingtons surely for good and bad influenced by midnight sci-fi and horror flicks.

Have a good day.
