Wicrypt Partners With Enugu State Government To Provide Jobs And Cheaper Data With Enugu WiFi.
Internet sharing via Hotspot, MiFis, and different service providers is very common all over the world as data has become a tool for everyday use. In many parts of Africa including Nigeria, the cost of mobile data is quite high and it limits the number of people that are connected to the internet at every point in time, but interestingly, the data rates are a lot cheaper when it is purchased in bulk. What if we could have a network of data resellers, where anyone can resell data at their own rates?
Enugu WIFI project is a Municipal Wireless Network, offered by independent Data Resellers deployed in Enugu State, Nigeria. It is a low-cost paid Secure Wi-Fi connection sponsored by Enugu State Government through the Enugu SME Center at various locations within the state, known as Wi-Fi Zones.
The project is powered by Enugu State Government and Enugu SME Center to empower thousands of youths to become digital millionaires. Enugu Wifi Agents will register with Enugu SME Center and they will be provided with the necessary tools and training required.
For customers to use this service, all you have to do is to download the WICRYPT app from Google Playstore or Apple app store and top up your wallets via a bank transfer, USSD, or ATM Card. Users who cannot download the app can also connect to the service using a voucher.
Once you are in a location where the WiFi is available (Enugu Wifi Zone), you will be able to connect to the WiFi instantly using a router code generated from Wicrypt mobile app or using a voucher code purchased from an EnuguWifi Agent or from the EnuguWifi Home page when you are connected to it.
One important aspect of this digital economy is internet access. In Nigeria, the Internet is still quite expensive for a lot of people and the majority of people have only limited access to the internet. This trend can be reversed by the Introduction of statewide Wi-Fi Zones where internet data is sold at very low prices in turn providing jobs for the individual who will make a profit from the resale of internet data. Enugu is a state with a very young population because it has about seven (7) universities and a lot of young people.
This project will reduce the cost of internet access for a lot of people and also provide a means of income for the data resellers. Also, Enugu WiFi will create at least 1000 Wifi Zones within Enugu state before the end of the year 2020.
