Just after crossing 500 active hotspots on the Wicrypt network, we are glad to launch a new mobile app on Apple Store and Android playstore. This new app will reduce the time it takes to set up a hotspot hub and start mining Wicrypt Network Token ($WNT) to about 5 mins. There are also other new features that come with the new mobile app so continue reading if you are interested in knowing.

Before now, users have been burdened with setting up a Metamask account, mexc account, etc, just to acquire and stake $WNT before setting up their Wicrypt hubs. The same process repeats when users want to off-ramp their mined $WNT to fiat currencies.

The main new feature of the new mobile app is the integration of a peer-to-peer exchange which makes purchasing of $WNT with Naira (or other supported fiat currencies) possible. It means that users can now buy the needed $WNT needed to stake before setting up their hubs easily.

With the new mobile app, users can also stake $WNT which they have purchased and all these are possible because of the digital custodial wallet that can be used to store, receive and send $WNT that is integrated to every account created on the mobile app.

The in-app wallet released on the mobile app is with a focus on user experience and breaking down the entry barrier for non-crypto savvy users. Users can now stake within the mobile without having to learn the complexities of Metamask and Mexc. Let us explain how to get the new mobile app and assess the new features: .

  1. Download or update (if you have the mobile app installed already)the Wicrypt app from either the Google Playstore or Apple Store
  2. To fund you app with $WNT, scroll to the Wallet tab and select the WNT wallet tab.

From the WNT wallet, users can fund their wallet using two options which are ‘using Crypto’ for people with WNT in other external wallets or exchanges or ‘using XendBridge (a peer-to-peer in-app exchange)’ for users who want to fund with fiat currencies like Nigeria ‘Naira’.

Once the WNT wallet is funded users only need to scroll to the staking tab and stake using $WNT in their ‘WNT wallet’.

Quite easy right? Just a few important things to note.

  • The wallet on the mobile app is a custodial wallet and should just be used to transact $WNT only within the app. Users should not use the wallet address outside the mobile app or to transact any other cryptocurrency.
  • Users still need to link a Metamask wallet address on their dashboard using a PC so they can bind their digital hub minted as an NFT to their custodial wallet. The minting of the hub as an NFT and binding of minted NFT can only be done with a Metamask wallet (not the mobile app custodial wallet).
  • It is also possible to mine $WNT using the in-app wallet even without connecting a Metamask. The only significant drawbacks are that they cannot bind their NFTs to their devices.

We are continually focusing on improving our customer experience through innovation. Users can claim and withdraw mining rewards through the in-app wallet, view pending transactions, and monitor staking progress.

There is still much more to be explored about the Wicrypt system. Join our community and reach out to our fantastic customer support team for further clarification.
