Karaoke Time!

Who loves karaoke? I’d say most of us do. But with so many places to try, where would you recommend?

Thanks to COVID-19, many of us have been unable to go to karaoke. But as the restrictions are due to be lifted soon, here’s hoping that will change. So while we wait, I’d like to introduce one of my favourite karaoke spots.

Located next to The Shack (an iconic foreigner friendly bar for the JET community) in Hondori, Hiroshima City, you will find the コロッケクラブ (Croquette Club).

Why do I like this place so much? Because it’s cheap and the staff speak English. What else do you need? With one hour costing only ¥360 yen, its super affordable. Although, let’s be realistic, not many of us would only sing for an hour.

Now, they are currently offering 20% off coupons for return customers. Receieve your coupon after your first visit and enjoy even cheaper food, drinks and karaoke next time.

Like any other karaoke bar, they have a tablet for ordering food; curry and rice, pizza, ice cream and more. And of course they serve alcohol. But don’t worry, a hot and cold drinks bar is included in the price of your session, for those of you who just want to sing.

So what do you like to sing? There’s a wide range of songs to choose from in multiple languages (Japanese, English, Korean and more) and for those of you who like to test yourself, you have the option of using JOYSOUND MAX GO to grade your singing.

Is there a song you really want to sing? Before you go to karaoke, I recommend checking the joysound.com website (all in Japanese, sorry). Type in your song to check if it’s there and if not, you have an option to request it. You do need an account to do so, but it’s quick and easy to create one. Just use the link below to get started.

Once the COVID restrictions have been lifted, I hope to see you there!
