Last week, the WiFi Map was updated with new utility — the tipping feature.
Now, when you connect to a free public WiFi hotspot in the WiFi Map app, you’ll be able to thank the person who added it to the ecosystem by leaving them a message and sending them a tip in $WIFI.
Boosting the utility of the $WIFI token means a better WiFi Map ecosystem and a stronger token economy.

WiFi Map on Altcoin Daily
We’ve been featured on Altcoin Daily! For those of you who don’t know, the YouTube platform covers all things Web3 including market trends, news, analysis and commentary with a focus on altcoins. The channel, which has over 1.3 million subscribers, took a deep dive into the WiFi Map ecosystem and the $WIFI token earlier this week.

New listings
Just a few hours after the TGE, at 08:00 UTC, WIFI/USDT spot trading opened on the OKX exchange. This was followed by Gate.io, MEXC and Huobi in the next few days.
Over the last two weeks, we’ve welcomed two more exchanges to the WiFi Map ecosystem: Poloniex and BingX.

The arrival of the $WIFI token marked a fundamental change to the WiFi Map ecosystem, cementing our status as a Web3 company in the DeWi (decentralized wireless) segment. It hasn’t taken long for the media to start taking serious notice, and this week we’ve been featured in TechBullion, a leading hub for financial technology news.
Ultimately, we believe that DeWi is going to change the entire connectivity landscape. While we’re always delighted to be featured by crypto news outlets, we want everybody who’s interested in new technologies — from big data to AI and HealthTech — to know exactly what WiFi Map is and what we’re doing.

Ecosystem updates
The WiFi Map app is growing like never before on the back of the $WIFI token launch. Last week we had almost half a million new installations across Android and ioS (492,299 to be precise), which represents a 15.9% increase over the previous week. Keep it up everybody!
It’s also been a big week for new hotspots, and here are the top three countries by new WiFi networks in the app:
1. India — 1,422 🔥
2. Indonesia — 1,107
3. Vietnam — 787

We also want to say a special congratulations to ks from Singapore, the top WiFi Map contributor in the world. They recently passed the 1 million points mark, and are showing no sign of stopping there, with 48 new hotspots added over the last week, 234 verifications and 58 speed tests. ks — we see you, and we love what you’re doing 🙏
