“Eww! His dog just pooped in the middle of the road and he didn’t even pick it up!”

Isn’t this your first reaction when this thing happens? Well, we know and that’s why we aren’t encouraging you to be someone who doesn’t care where their pooch is pooping.

While having a dog might feel like the best thing, the responsibility doesn’t stop there. You still have to take care of a lot of things. You need to set a good example for people on the street because you don’t want them blaming you.

For some, picking up your dog’s litter might seem really like a “That’s not what I do” kind of a thing. If you’re really buying a dog for show and are not up for the responsibility, we suggest you don’t get a dog itself or just have way too many servants.

Being a pet lover doesn’t mean you don’t have to pick up his litter. You will have to, he’s your kid eventually.

This is when you are outside of your home but when you’re inside, doesn’t mean that you’re totally free.

There are people who live around you and not everyone sees your dog from your eyes. You should never let your dog/cat run away in your locality, make sure you have a strong leash. Not everyone is going to pet him like you pet their dogs and every dog’s temperament is different.

There are some specific things you should keep in mind always:

  1. Never let your dog/cat lose on the road or locality.
  2. Never let your dog/cat jump on anyone. It could hurt them if you have a big breed.
  3. Always pick up your pet’s litter. Just, always!
  4. Teach your dog the command: ‘Bark’ and ‘Quiet’. It’s disturbing if your dog starts barking at 2am.
  5. Even when your dog is fully trained to be without the leash, keep an eye on him.
  6. Never let a stranger come very close to your dog/cat, they might pounce on the person.
  7. Teach your pets to take permission from you before they greet someone.
  8. Keep a stick in your hand when walking your dog, for him or for other street dogs. It’s better for you and your dog.
  9. Make your dog/cat a family member by training him to listen to everyone.
  10. Show off your dog’s capabilities only when fully trained. One wrong move and the whole show will be wrecked.

These pointers seem like they don’t matter, but in the end it’s the small things that matter and leave a mark on humanity and society. Don’t forget that you are a citizen of the country before being a pet lover.
