Good News for Bats and Sharks!

I just returned from the Conference of the Parties to the Conference of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS COP12) in Manila, Philippines, where we had a major success in securing protections for migratory bats, sharks and rays. International cooperation is vital for the survival of these species that cross political boundaries, and Defenders is excited to have been a big part of this conference. I hosted and moderated the panel of the Conference on Green Energy and the Conservation of Migratory Bats to 60 people with resources from the renewables team back at headquarters in Washington, D.C. This new international collaboration, adoption and recognition will promote responsible conservation of four bat species and six marine species.
