Could Life be Possible on Another Planet?
Do you ever look up at the night sky and wonder if anything else is out there? NASA is trying very hard to find out if there could possibly be life on Mars. Many astronauts have been to Mars before and have looked for signs of life. It is hard to know for sure if there could ever be life there. Some of the many reasons we think life can live on Mars is because
- it’s the perfect distance where its not too hot or too cold
- it has water on it, not a ton but there has been signs of water
What if there was life on Mars even before Earth and we don’t know? Since the 1960’s the United States and other developed countries have been sending astronauts to Mars. Mars is most alike to Earth so that’s why scientists have been focused on searching to whether or not their has or can be possible life on another planet.
On December 4th, 1996, the first Mars Rover launched. After landing on July 4th, 1997, they realized that life could have once been on Mars. One of the most popular trips for 2 of Mars Rovers was when both Opprotunity and Spirit went out on the adventure. They showed everyone the beauty of Mars. There was one picture of ripples in sand but it looked like waves in the ocean.
Opportunity and Spirit also showed that over the years, since Opprotunity was alive for 14 years, that Mars has slowly gotten less wet and warm. Today it is more dry and cold that it has ever been. Wet and warm conditions would have been perfect for life, but if it keeps going in the direction that it is then we won’t be able to put life there.
