Universidad de los Andes. Project by William Maya, Iván Lizcano and Andrea Gómez. Instructors: Lorenzo Castro and Camilo Isaak.

This is one iteration of several we experimented through the whole semester. As the final , the biggest and the one which required most work. Here is a building for Bogota’s downtown.

A skyscraper that breaks the fears and conservative thinking of Colombian architecture, one who aims to dream taller and bigger. A building which re-imagines what one of the most important streets aimed to be in Bogotá. Originally noted as the 5th Avenue of Bogota, “La Carrera Décima” never fulfilled completely its dream. With skyscrapers with mixed used development one can dream to make the potential of this avenue shine again.

Models showing the contrast between the new Skyscraper and its surrounding buildings.
