Southern California Institute of Architecture. 2GBX Studio: Complex Morphologies. Instructor: Florencia Pita.

Semblance: The form, likeness or image of a person or thing, considered in regard to another that is similar. An appearance or outward seeming of something which is not actually there or of which the reality is different from its appearance.

Going back and forth between the idea of real and artificial, digital and analog, and digital model and phisical model we manipulated a series of images in order to project these images back into a physical object, to create a completly new composition. The cycle between physical object, digital model, analog pictures and digital images was the process used to develop this project. The work of the studio is based on the use of the sampled data in the production of architectural form.

From an architectural standpoint, every image embodies a tectonic and material quality. It can become both expressive and functional.
