A high risk pregnancy, a premature birth or a child’s diagnosis of critical illness can instantly change the life of an entire family. Unfortunately, this sometimes means that the simplest daily tasks can become overwhelming and a new normal becomes reality.

During this time, parents and caregivers require timely information, communication and support to stay strong and be the best advocates possible for their child.

In order to provide meaningful support where and when it’s needed most, Will’s Way Foundation works with our hospitals partners and their care teams to address the unique nature of each family’s need caring for a child with critical illness through our support grants.

Preference is given to families in need with a child who has been hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit for at least 2 weeks. We also work with high-risk prenatal and antepartum families and provide support to outpatient services up to a month after discharge to ensure continuity of care in follow-up clinic.

Parents and caregivers must be actively involved in the child’s care (or making an effort to do so) and have financial need.

Thanks to the generous support of our donors (100% of proceeds from Willy Ball go to support grants program!!), Will’s Way has provided more than 1,500 support grants to families across Northern California since 2014.
