Special Announcements

Medium Blog

The NYC Chapter now has a Medium Publication! We plan to provide event summaries and publish a quarterly Q&A with a chapter member who would like to be featured on our new blog.

If (a) you have just completed a certificate/degree or (b) you are seeking a career or job

change, this platform may be a great way to publicize your accomplishments and goals.

In addition, we are seeking one or more volunteers to assist us with virtual event administration through 2021. Please reach out to us at nyc@wimlds.org if you are interested in being featured in a publication or volunteering.

In the realm of computing pioneers, Dame Stephanie ‘Steve’ Shirley is one of the most celebrated, not only for building a $3 billion tech empire in 1960s England, but for doing it with an all-female, work-from-home staff of professionally qualified women who had left the workforce after marrying and having children.”

See a recent interview with Steve, who was recognized in Women in Data’s “20 in 20”.
