Rain battered the roofs and shutters of the village of Unglück at the foot of the Bavarian Alps. Thunder pealed repeatedly, and lightning bolts illuminated an onyx sky smothered by storm clouds. Clouds that masked, but didn’t drive away the giant full moon looming overhead.

For the 45th night in 25 years, the villagers rampaged against the innocent creatures who minded their own business, only occasionally snacking on a human no one would miss. With torches, pitchforks, blunderbusses, and muskets, the intolerant and relentless humans mounted assaults on Frankenstein’s fortress, Dracula’s castle, and the Wolfman’s lair.

And, as they’d done since Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man years before, the three escaped to a glen at the outskirts of the village where they could stay below the villager’s radars, catch up on the latest horror paperbacks that Larry Talbot carried in his hip pockets, and bone up on their Monster Fu skills. (Monster Fu that always seemed to fail them when the villagers rampaged just before the end credits rolled).
