Sharon was a dealmaker. She didn’t shop; she shopped for deals. Why buy a brand name television with a two-year warranty for $2000 when she could buy a used Hong Kong 85” knock-off for only $265 from cheapdeals.net? (Not including $740 shipping.) She stayed up nights clipping coupons from her four dozen magazine and newspaper subscriptions, often saving as much as $25 on her weekly shopping.

Just last week when her soon-to-be-ex-husband Ricky dropped by with the divorce papers, he spotted the pile of publications on what used to be their kitchen table. “How much is the monthly subscription bill now? $200?”

She scratched her signature on the paper, in a hurry to get back to the Christmas Clearance Show on QVC. “My finances are no longer your concern.”

“I bet your cable bill is $500 to pay for all your shopping networks.”

But Sharon was no longer listening. She’d left him in the kitchen so she could sit in the living room with her remote and cell phone while the Christmas Clearance specials aired. The front door might as well have closed in silence for all the attention she paid. She was too busy logging onto gullible.com which was offering free Tweets for only $9.95 a month, a special offer of which Wind Eggs readers can take advantage too. Gone, and hopefully forgotten.
