Dev Inspiration Roundup: Make your app stand out in a crowd
Need some app inspiration? Check out our weekly roundup of #DevInspiration links to help get you started developing for Windows 10. This week we’re highlighting resources and materials to help you add innovative UX and design features to your app. Let’s jump in!
Need to go back? There’s a button for that
Previously, UWP apps used AppViewBackButtonVisibility for backwards navigation. The Universal Windows Platform provides a consistent back navigation system for traversing the user’s navigation history within an app and, depending on the device, from app to app. Here’s a tutorial on implementing backwards navigation in your app through the placement of a back button.
Make your app elements pop with Reveal
Reveal highlight is a lighting effect that highlights interactive elements. This feature draws attention by revealing the element’s container when the pointer is nearby, adding another dimension to lists and grids. Learn more here!
Your app will be glowing (literally) with Reveal focus, a lighting effect for 10 foot experiences, such as Xbox One and television screens. It animates the border of focusable elements, such as buttons, when the user moves gamepad or keyboard focus to them.
