The Blackhawks have traded forward Tommy Wingels to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a 5th round pick.

With only minutes remaining and Blackhawks fans still realing from the Ryan Hartman trade, the team squeaked out one more move. Wingels, who has made appearances on the teams top line this season, is heading to Boston.

The 29 year old Evanston native signed with the Blackhawks this past offseason, and made a nice impact on the teams 4th line, playing primarily with Lance Bouma, who was waived yesterday.

This deal doesn't really make much of an impact on Chicago, but they gain back a 5th round pick, which they just traded to Nashville in the Hartman deal.

Wingels had a good season for the Hawks, but set to be a UFA next season and this one all but over, Stan Bowman got value. Its entirely possible that Wingels resigns with the team next season, as he is a Chicago native and seemed to be liked by the coaching staff.
