Winery by the ocean: Pacific Star

My dream home someday… Wines, ocean and dogs

Sally, winemaker and owner of Pacific Star, welcomed us with her two adorable dogs and told us a little bit of her story. She used to live in one of the big wine valleys in California, but she wanted to find the perfect place to make her own wine. So she found this beautiful place next on the Pacific Ocean on the Coast Hwy in California and she started producing wines.

Enjoying the waves, the wind and a glass of wine

The grapes are grown in warmer areas of California and they are processed in her winery. She offers a variety of wines, but the best part is the view. After wine tasting, you can get some of the wine you liked the most and go watch the spectacular waves, feeling the delicious wind blowing your hair and during spring, you can even see wild whales from there.

Something that I will never forget is“Dad’s Daily Red”, a wine with a story (one of the best things a wine can have). Sally’s dad used to have a glass of red wine every day, so she decided to make a wine on his honor. She even put his picture on it.

So, a good stop while driving from Portland to San Francisco.
