Announcing Elevate Security’s Seed Round

After having worked with Robert Fly and Masha Sedova since January, we’re pleased to announce our investment in Elevate Security. When WIN Affiliate Tom Berson introduced us to the team, we were very excited about their vision of empowering employees to be the first line of defense against cyberattacks.

In a world where phishing attacks constitute 40% of all corporate breaches, and where most security companies we’ve seen are moving toward automated solutions that bypass human judgment, Robert and Masha have taken a different tack. They believe employees must be part of any modern security solution, and they’re using behavioral science to measure, motivate, and educate workers to recognize and report potential breaches.

Masha and Robert are earnest believers in the power of human judgement, and after having implemented a program similar to Elevate at Salesforce, they know that a properly trained and motivated workforce will lead to better security outcomes. And as threats grow subtler, faster, and more insidious, we like the idea of CSOs thinking of their employees not as security risks, but as extensions of the team.
