The Mind Space- how we can make it our closest ally or our biggest foe (MWC Space)

They say that our everyday thoughts drive our life , so it is important to see how we use or leverage our mind to profoundly define the life we lead.

Its mind over matter

Our mind can make us or break us. What we think, ruminate and dwell over — our thoughts finally culminates in the life we lead. The mind is what drives our thoughts and therefore our actions.

So it cannot be more true that our mind can be our greatest ally or our greatest enemy depending on the way we engage it in our life. Every person is born the same — of course there are factors of the legacy, inheriting the characteristics and intelligence from your family etc. But how our lives turn out — it all boils down to what we make of each wakeful moment of our lives. And the subtle secret behind it- how we each mind our mind!

How to make our mind space empowered to drive our life and failing which how it can destroy us:

  • Positive thinking

Positive thinking is what steers us in the right direction and to greater things in life. Thinking in a manner that “The glass is half full” will lead us to be grateful, happy, and reflect positivity both internally and in our interactions with the external world. This positivity will drive and derive positive results and outcomes . It will in turn propel us towards more in life- in terms of fulfilling our aspirations, dreams and goals- as for a positive mind the sky is the limit .

  • To decide what to focus on

Use your mind to define the focus areas of your life. Without focus the limited energy that each of us possess would be dissipated in a futile manner and our energy would know no direction. Life would then become a useless quest.

Rather decide how to go about focusing your — energy, efforts, actions in the direction that would lead you the results you aspire in life. Of course there is bound to be unexpected events, setbacks and failures. But once you know your direction and area(s) of focus you know that you have to keep moving in that direction despite the fallbacks and that success will be ultimately yours!

  • The law of manifesting and the law of attraction

Its only in recent times that the power of Manifesting and the Law of attraction have been more widely recognized and understood. But this concept is as old as mankind itself!

It is said that

“Be careful about what you think about everyday , as some of those thoughts are bound to come true” — A wise man’s saying

The Law of Attraction in its basic form is to apply your minds energy to what you would like to attract /see come true in your life. Similarly “Manifesting” is a powerful tool to make things real or tangible in your life — towards those aspects which are not in your life yet.

But both these techniques require your mind to make them happen. Essentially both these techniques require one to define what you want, act in the direction to be able to attain what you aspire and help the universe them to you through belief and trust in the power of these tools. But the underlying crux here is the mind- as the mind will need to define your goals, your beliefs and your actions towards attracting/manifesting the desires into your life.

  • Mindfulness in daily life

Mindfulness is being in the present moment. It is in its core form keeping the mind to rest in the present — as the “mind is a monkey”.

Without any reins the mind has the propensity to either time travel to the past or the future state. And as most of us have come to realize with some wisdom that neither living in the past nor the present is any good. The power lies in the present moment.

So having the mind focused on the present moment ensures that we give our best to what we are at now .Also being in the present moment will ensure we are enjoying our current actions and are able to relish and cherish the present state completely- leading to gratification.

  • Affirmations

Affirmations are telling our mind to believe in ourselves and our abilities. It is a technique to stay positive , focused and to remove self limiting beliefs.

Affirmations trick our mind by constantly stating the positive and thus bringing a positive outlook- and this actually works!. And we all know things done with a positive frame of mind tend to be more fruitful than actions performed in despair, negative thinking or limiting beliefs.

As when your mind is not fully applied to an action and there are things holding one back, then the results also tend to be half — baked or even set for failure.

Oprah Winfrey was greatest Black philanthropist in U.S. history and she was sometimes ranked as the most influential woman in the world. Born into utter poverty she rose to became the person of influence and prominence in society. Her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, was the highest-rated television program of its kind in history and ran for 25 years- propelled her to fame and fortune.

Winfrey had reinvented her show with a focus on literature, self-improvement, mindfulness, and spirituality. She has also been praised for overcoming adversity to become a benefactor to others.(Source:

The famous American Hollywood actor — Jim Carrey is a true representative for the power of manifestation and Law of Attraction. He grew up in poverty in Canada and was emotionally drained.

However he was a strong advocate of the Law of Attraction.
