Smart Mumbaikars are hunting for weekend home these days!! Here’s Why. Mumbai’s urban population is estimated to be over 22 million. The second most densely populated city in the world is also one of the largest in India in terms of population, trade activity and business. Mumbai is home to Entrepreneurs, Hard working professionals, Bollywood superstars and many more. With available land at a premium, Mumbai residents often reside in cramped, relatively expensive housing, usually far from workplaces, and therefore requiring long commutes on crowded mass transit, or clogged roadways. Despite earning handsomely and maintaining higher standards of living, the quality of life here remains poor because of unhealthy environment. Families are getting health conscious and alarmingly concerned about the quality of life lived in cities.

That’s exactly why, the need and concept of weekend/second homes is evolving rapidly in Mumbai. People, today, are looking for a home with naturally fresh air to breathe & organic food grown in backyard to eat. A home where families unite, Dads cook and Moms play sports with kids. A home where children love gazing at stars listening to the stories from grand parents. A home where Ashoka, Mango and Papaya trees fence and decorate the lawn. A home where relationship strengthens and life becomes much more meaningful.

Just at a short drive of lesser than 3 hours from the city, a weekend home provides great relief to the stressed urbanites and lost nature lovers who are constantly seeking space to obtain peace and solitude. Here, one can experience what living life is, at least for few days, every weekend.

Hence, Weekend homes are no more luxury but absolute necessity. The popular weekend destinations near Mumbai are Alibaug, Karjat, Neral, Mahabaleshwar, Lonavala, Shahapur, Igatpuri, Wada and Manor. Wouldn’t you prefer Breathing naturally fresh air over mechanically purified air!!
