How to set up Ethereum’s Kovan Test Network (Kovan Testnet) and Binance Smart Chain Test Network (BSC Testnet)
Step by step to set up wallets on Kovan Testnet and BSC Testnet
You need to install MetaMask plugin wallet first, please follow the previous post in our Medium to find out more
I. Ethereum’s Kovan Test Network
- Change from Main Ethereum Network to Kovan Test Network
Step 1: Click on the Metamask symbol (an orange Fox’s head) on top right hand of the screen
Step 2: Click on the drop-down button Main Ethereum Network of the small window below:
Step 3: Choose Kovan Test Network
2. Get free ETH to test on Kovan Test Network
Step 1: Go to the link: https://gitter.im/kovan-testnet/faucet and click to sign in on the Sign in to start talking, then you can sign-in with one of your accounts below:
Step 2: Click on your wallet address to copy the ETH address:
Step 3: Paste your wallet address on gitter chat box then wait gitter admin to send you 4 testing ETH
Step 4: You can check the transaction and account balance here
II. Binance Smart Chain Test Network
- How to set up Binance Smart Chain Test Network
Step 1: Click on the drop-down button Main Ethereum Network
of the small window below:
Step 2: Choose Custom RPC in the drop-down list
Step 3: Fill in the Settings:
Network Name: Testnet BSC
New RPC URL: https://data-seed-prebsc-1-s1.binance.org:8545/
ChainID (optional): 97
Symbol (optional): BNB
Block Explorer URL (optional): https://testnet.bscscan.com/
Then click Save button, you will have the Binance Smart Chain Testnet as below:
2. Get free BNB to test on Binance Smart Chain Test Network
Step 1: Go to the link: https://testnet.binance.org/faucet-smart
Step 2: Input your Binance Smart Chain address and select the number of BNB you would like to have
Then you can check back to your BSC address:
