I lost my (crypto) virginity on the train to London — here’s how…

The moment it happened I didn’t even notice…

It seemed like a normal day — just before Christmas and I tapped my Wirex card on the station barrier. I’d signed up to Wirex a few days earlier and had received my card in the post. I was eager to test it out.

As it was a contactless debit card, I decided it would be a great way to keep tabs on my spending on life’s London Essentials (transport, beers and sandwiches). A couple of taps in the app and I credited £100 as a test. I always hoped that ‘my first time’ might have been a bit more special, but it was over pretty quickly. A quick tap at Streatham Station and I passed through the barriers to London Victoria.

It was only afterwards that I knew what I’d just done…

Blissfully unaware that the 13.11 Southern Trains Service was life changing, it was only moments later that I knew what had just happened. My Wirex app sent me a push notification. It really had just happened. I’d lost my crypto virginity, and I hadn’t even reached Wandsworth Common yet. God knows what would happen by the time I reached Victoria! By paying £4.61 for the train to London, I had automatically been credited with 389 satoshi, for free!

I logged in and I checked — could it really be true? — and it was. For the first time in my life I was officially an owner of a digital asset. Tapping into the rewards section it was there in black and, erm, pale green — Wirex had helped me become a Bitcoin owner and I’d done nothing more than take the train to London to make it happen!

So, Wirex are giving away money, for free?

Seems that way! Wirex has a vision — that eventually all currencies and assets should be equal; possible to spend anywhere and anytime. If you have some USD $, a few £’s, some MakerDAO Dai or some spare satoshi jingling around in your app, Wirex want to help you store and spend it as you wish.

It’s all about the Cryptoback™!

Wirex hope that by crediting Cryptoback™ they’re making digital assets accessible for absolutely anyone. It’s part of the vision to make all digital assets equally interchangeable and spendable. It might start with a few satoshi or some WXT’s (Wirex’s own native currency) — but they’ve created an opportunity for everyone to earn real digital assets with every purchase made offline. There’s very few exceptions but they can be found here. The more you spend, the more you receive back — worth 0.5% every time you make an in-store purchase (or 1.5% if you hold enough WXT), swipe your Wirex payment card or use Tap and Go. Your credits can be redeemed to your wallet anytime.

If you’re ready to lose yours…

… don’t be nervous! 3 million people have already done it with Wirex, and more are doing for the first time every day. With a Trustpilot rating of 4.4 It’s easy & safe to sign up, get an account and get started! If you’re interested, click here for more details https://wirexapp.com/
