A bit of Pocket Weights history

Hello! We’re Wise Hedgehog Studio and we released our first game recently. Pocket Weights is a simple yet challenging physics-based game. You can get it at Google Play and AppStore.

It all started as a solo project by Sandra. The first prototype was created with Construct 2D engine but after the first performance problems on mobile devices, she decided to switch to some other engine. We’ve discovered Defold, a pretty new engine that promised to be great for 2D games. We never regretted the switch to Defold. Even though we had some difficulties with it in the beginning, the overall experience was great.

All games (well, almost all) need nice graphics and catchy music. And that’s how our team started. Five long time friends organized Wise Hedgehog Studio. Now we have developers, artist and a musician. Pocket Weights is our first try on the indie-game scene. We definitely made tons of mistakes but that’s OK, if you don’t do any mistakes — you don’t learn.

We love to receive feedback and we’re really grateful to Frederik Schrader for his fantastic review on Pocket Weights. This review has a great balance between criticism and pointing out good sides of our game. Thank you, Frederik! BTW, check out Frederik’s project: Word Grabber. It’s a great tool for generating words from letters for any word game.

Do you want to give us some feedback? We’d be happy to hear it!

Pocket Weights is not our only project, currently we have 3 games in development and hope to release the next one early next year. Stay tuned for updates!
